How is the Yodel Club Heimattreu organized?
The Yodel Club Heimattreu is an Alberta Society incorporated in 1977.

Choir Rehearsal Times?
We rehearse from September to June, meeting every Wednesday from 7:15 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Rehearsal Location?
Our rehearsal location is the Austrian Canadian Cultural Centre at 3112-11 Street NE, Calgary


Cost to Join?
Members set the annual membership fee. It is currently $50.

Is knowledge of Swiss or German required to join?
While most of our songs are sung in Swiss German, you don't need to speak German to join us. We're all about inclusivity, so English-speaking members are more than welcome!

Can I attend a rehearsal before joining the choir?
Absolutely! We encourage you to drop in and get a feel of what the rehearsals are all about.

Is an audition necessary?
Our Artistic Choir Director will conduct a brief audition to determine your voice section. Reading music is desirable but not required.

Music Genre?
We perform traditional Swiss Yodel songs, featuring 3-strophe pieces and also natural yodels with harmonizing voices. We sing in 4-to-7-part harmony.

Frequency of Public Performances?
We aim for 3 public performances each fall and spring.

Performance Attire?
The choir performs in choir supplied uniforms.
